If you read my lastpost, you know I had been travelling Western Serbia and as promised, I’m sharing few more photos and things to do here. This region doesn’t have big cities and is best known for it’s nature. Besides visiting Drvengrad, here are few more things you can do here:

1.       About a 10-minute walk from Drvengrad which you saw in the last post, you can find one of the oldest moveable railway museums in Europe. You can hope aboard a vintage train from the early 1920s and ride in it through one of the most beautiful region of this country. You will love the experience of being on the train but the scenery will leave you speechless and at peace. Train runs twice a day so make sure to check the schedule first. They even offer logging so you can stay in one of their apartments.

There are 3 stray dogs here but they are so docile and welcome you as you come in. Consider them to be your hosts :)

2.       Second activity you can do here, and I’m sure you will enjoy thoroughly, is hike the hills and nearby villages and explore old architecture of the region. By architecture I don’t mean some grand villas but rather very charming old houses very unique to the region. I get the privilege of staying in one of those vintage homes. My great grandfather’s house is in the village of Kremna and is one of the most peaceful places to be. I still have many memories of visiting the house as a kid. My great grandparents still lived there at the time. Now the house serves more as a cottage. The walls of the house which are about a meter thick keep the house cool, if not cold, so no AC is necessary. Days are warm here but nights are very cool so you are guaranteed some of the most restful night sleeps. Top floor features all original windows which do require some refurbishing. Oh and did I tell you that there is even a traffic sign with my family name (in Cyrillic alphabet) signalling the turn to my village heheh. How cool is that! Also, If you’re lucky,  you may even catch a ride on a pimped up tractor!

3.       Nothing in this region is far when speaking in kilometer distance, but western Serbia is a very mountainous region and full of canyons and meandering roads, so 20km distance may take you a full houre to drive. It’s worth it though. So about an hour ride from Kremna and Drvengrad,  you will find a beautiful lake Zaovine. This is not a nature lake but it rather formed when a dam was constructed. This summer has been extremely hot so the water level is a little lower making the access to the lake a little rocky. On the other side of dam, on top of the hill, you will find restaurant Tarsko Jezero which has a terrace view to die for. Many tourists stop by to eat or at least grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the scenery. We camped at the top of the hill above lake Zaovine and waking up to this view was priceless.

Must read book!
4.       On the mountain of Tara, about a 30 minute ride from Zaovine, you will find village of Mitrovac. This village is known for mountain tourism and as Tara mountain is protected, you will find so much untouched nature, beautiful trails among coniferous trees and access to a lookout over Drina river canyon. You will want to stay there for hours, breathing in fresh air and all of the beauty of the canyon and its colours. A must-see!
5.       Lastly, just enjoy. Get back to nature, appreciate the peace it provides to you mind and body. Sit on the ground, feel the grass, let your eyes absorb all the beauties around you. You body and soul will thank you for it.

As for the outfits, I can’t fully call them that. One of my suitcases containing most of my clothes got delayed in Frankfurt so I had to work with what I had in my shoe suitcase and my carry-on. But it worked out anyway. I wore the white Forever 21 dress couple of times. My new Pink exercise leggings made for a great Yeezy inspired outfit when combined with the oversized sweatshirt, and the red light summer dress from H&M perfectly mixed with the greens and the blues of Tara mountain and Drina canyon. As for the shoes, I seem to be wearing these H&M slides with everything. They are just so versatile.

Hope you enjoyed these last two posts as much as I enjoyed writing them.
Ciao!

The Very First Outfit Post

I took a few outfit pictures over the last few days, as I was running around my day and I wasn’t sure what would be the first one to post. I debated and as the days went by and weather changed (it seems every day it was a different season), I decided to go with the very first one I shot. This one I actually took last month at the High Park.   It was the last few days when you could see the cherry tree blossom so I did not want to miss out on it. I love spring only for this reason, trees and flowers blossoming. And the fact that it is a sign that the summer is just around the corner (I am still waiting for this corner though), but it is a sign.      A little nervous giggle              Sweater Costa Blanca, white tee H&M, rings, earrings, necklaces and leggings Forever 21, watch Michael Kors, bag Louis Vuitton, sneakers Urban Planet, sunglasses Ray Ban   ...

Have You Visited Positano & Amalfi Coast Yet?

Pants Zara, jacket Zara, sneakers Forever21, bag unknown (Winners), dress unknown ( similar ), ankle boots PrettyLittleThings There are still quite a few more outfits and cities I’ll be featuring on the blog from my last year’s trip to Italy, however today I’m sharing this post from the last location we visited: beautiful Positano. As we visited Italy in the fall, outfits left to share are more fall appropriate, so I will share them come September. I’ll be dealing with two little babies then so God knows how much time I will have to shoot new outfits. As I’m laying on my couch bored out of my mind counting down the days to my delivery next week (whooohoooo!!!) I’m experiencing such FOMO. Partially because I won’t be going on vacation this summer (though becoming a mom to two little girls is quite awesome!!) and partially because I’m reminiscing of my travels last year. Positano seems to still be one of the most photographed summer destinations so I’m sharing a few pictures f...

Black & White Striped Forever 21 Dress & Aldo Shoes

Shoes Aldo, bag Target, dress Forever 21, jacket Le Chateau, sunglasses ZeroUV, spike bracelets Aldo, silver bracelet Tiffany&Co, watch DKNY Hello lovelies. I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend. Hopefully, those of you who are moms got to be pampered and spoiled by your kids and partners. I hope you also showed your love to your moms and thanked them for everything they have done for you. We should be doing it every day, but it’s really nice to have a day dedicated to these amazing women. I know how much my mother means to me and she certainly deserves every day to be dedicated just to her. I’m sure all of you feel the same way about your mothers too. Even the sun came out to shine and make Mother’s day even more special. I made sure to go bare legged to welcome the warmth and the sun. Today’s outfit is a cute spring look, easy to pull off. Black and white stripes always make a statement and a little pop of colour just makes the outfit complete. I spent the day out mostly...

Would You Wear a Bathing Suit as a Top?

Skirt H&M, bathing suit/top unknown, sandals Le Chateau, bag vintage Value Village, hat bought in Athens From north of Greece and beautiful Khalkidhiki peninsula, we headed due south and reached this little town called Athens 😊 . Athens Greece is simply beautiful. No matter where you are in the city, Gods of Acropolis are looking over you. It is such an amazing feeling especially at night when the city is covered by darkness and Acropolis shines in its full light and grandeur. It’s a wonderful feeling to be walking down city streets and being pleasantly surprised by monuments from Ancient Greece as you turn the next corner. I started of my city walk from Monesteriaki neighbourhood and walked around all neighbourhoods surrounding it, from Plaka and Kolonaki to Anafiotika and Gazi. I especially loved Anafiotika. If you love hilly neighbourhoods, then you will love Anafiotika. At night, you can sit on the stairs of cafés and enjoy a cold beer or a cocktail with all the local...
