Holiday Dress Ideas

Hello ladies, I chose today to do a different kind of post. By talking to a lot of females, I know that a lot of you hate shopping for holiday dresses. How many of you actually shop for them months in advance? Probably only a few. Same as most people do with Christmas gifts, we tend to leave it for the last minute. And I agree, it may not be the best time to shop for that holiday dress in July. Who wants to be thinking about winter when it's hot outside? But then the holiday season sneaks upon us and our schedules get crazy busy. The malls become hectic and if you want to avoid that chaos, what are you left with but to shop online? I know that many people don't like shopping online (unlike me hehe). It may also be a little late to order that dress now, unless you are prepared to pay extra for express shipping. How about browsing your favourite stores online and picking what you like from the comfort of you house? Then go to the store and try those pieces only. Even better, obtain the item number or name and call head, find out if they carry the dress in your size. Avoid unnecessary driving in these poor weather conditions. I'm sure you can think of better things to do with your day then be stuck in traffic. 

Well today I did some browsing for you and picked a few items to give you some ideas. From girly to edgy, from body hugging to loose. Now you also know that I buy clothing that will give me a lot of wear out of it? As well as pieces that can go from casual to glam? The pieces I picked today therefore are just that. They can be made casual with a nice warm sweater, blazer or a denim jacket. So you can wear them to a party or on a casual weekend outing. Add black tights in the winter or go bare legged in the summer. Want to make any of the dresses more edgy? Add a cool biker leather jacket, biker boots or a belt with some studs or spikes.

If your Go To dress is always LBD, how about experimenting a little? Add some edge to you look by choosing this all leather look or add an element of surprise with a deep V-back line (Top Shop $100 & Zara $79.90) 

Winter white is all the rage this winter. Choose this gorgeous a-line frock or this soft embellished piece. You won't even need any jewelry for the latter one except maybe a nice bracelet (Both Forever 21 $41.80 & $45.80)

If you are a girly girl, then these will be just perfect. A-line dress with a cut out on the back which can be toughened up with a biker jacket in the spring/fall, or this blush pink lace dress. Add a spike belt and some black tights, and you go from girly to chic (Both from Forever 21 & both $35.80) 

 Do you love going all out for the holidays? Then choose a lace inspired piece, some sequins or a little bit of both. All three can be made casual with a boyfriend blazer or a warm sweater/cardigan. In the summer wear a white T-shirt and a denim jacket for a cool and chic look. (H&M $34.95, $Zara $99 & Forever 21 $45.80) 

And if you want drama in your look? Go for these body hugging pieces: add a fun and bright print or opt for this maxi sheer number. Keep the jewelry minimal, you don't want it to compete with the dress (Top Shop $66 & H&M $79.95)
