Winter Layering with Over The Knee Boots (& a Visit to Ripley's Aquarium)

Jeans Zara, boots Aldo, jacket Danier old (similar jacket or check out Ebay), bag Chanel (vintage), scarf unknown, fur sole vintage

I hadn’t planned to post this outfit on the blog, only on Instagram, but I had too many beautiful pictures of my excursion to the Toronto Ripley’s Aquarium that I just had to share. If I had shared even half of them on my Instagram account, I’m pretty sure complaints would start coming in for posting too much, and inundating the Instagram feed hehehe. Anywhoo, I have a few pictures of the outfit too, so this still counts as an outfit post right?
Winter has finally arrived to Toronto (temperature wise, but still no snow) so it was quite cold to walk outside, but my layering skills have improved over the years so I can now tolerate the cold. I used to wear bulky sweaters or shirts to keep warm but have realized that it’s not the thickness that counts (I am talking about clothes, please get your mind out of the gutter!), but the number of layers and materials you wear. On this day I also used one of my summer scarfs as an extra layer but also to add to the interest of the outfit. It gives the outfit more dimension and therefore it’s more pleasing to the eye.
This gorgeous lined jacket is from Danier Leather but it’s at least 3 years old. It’s warm yet the leather is really soft and allows for ease of movement.
Over the knee boots are a perfect way to add layers to your bottom and keep you extra warm.
Oh by the way, before I forget, I just wanted to say I recommend to everyone to visit the Aquarium. It’s not just for kids. It’s very relaxing and before you know it, you will have spent 3-4 hours observing the life under the sea. I gotta say, it’s not the same as scuba diving, but if you never did that, this will come close. Enjoy!

Ciao!

Joining The 30s Club! Yikes!

Shoes Gucci, Skirt Mendocino, corset Ebay, necklace DIY, clutch gift old, belt Asos, (sold out, similar here), ring and earrings street buy Madrid Well today is my big birthday. I am turning 30! All I have to say is OMG! I know that sounds more like a teenager talking, but I am somewhat speechless. Partially because I don’t feel mature enough for it. Maybe I have this vision that in your thirties you are more serious when it comes to everything including what you wear. Or maybe I am having midlife crisis at 30. Is that possible? I’m kidding of course. It does feel a bit weird but I feel great. Everyone tells me that your thirties are your best years. I guess we will wait and see. I am posting tonight one last outfit from Spain. I obviously can’t shoot the pictures tonight of my birthday outfit, put it on my computer, edit and post and all of this while making it to dinner on time J. So I will post today’s outfit tomorrow and I am leaving you with this, what I think, stunning outfit. As…

Sightseeing Montreal In Hot Pink Sneakers & Ripped Jeans

Jeans & jacket Zara, sneakers Nike, shirt H&M, bag Steve Madden, sunglasses unknown, belt Danier (men's section), chain ring Forever 21, midi ring H&M, forefinger gold rings gifts Day one in Montreal was the cocktail party and then walking the streets of old Montreal at night and testing out different patios and bars. Day two in Montreal, was again walking the beautiful streets of old Montreal and testing out patios, but now in daylight, hehehe. Oh and lets not forget, blog picture taking. I forget how beautiful this city is and am reminded every time I come back. Then, I wonder why I don't come back more often. It is gorgeous, vibrant and people are extremely warm. It has such a European flare, which I often miss, and this is a quick way for me to get that fix once in a while, without having to fly over an ocean. These pictures were snapped around St Denis street as well as around Catherdral Notre-Dame Basilica of MontrĂ©al. I was comfortable in my new Nikes for the…

Celebrating 30s is Not That Hard

As promised, I’m following up with one more outfit post this week. One thing I notice is that one of the  posts on my blog keeps getting the most view, even 3 years after it was posted. That was a post on turning 30, called Joining the 30s club. It seems to be a topic of interest for many women, most likely those about to turn 30. At the time it seemed like a bit deal for me too, but today, as I’ve turned 33, I’m very much comfortable with my age. 30s used to be a scary thought for me but now, I embrace them and feel more comfortable & happy in my skin then I ever have.
Today I’m sharing an outfit I wore for my birthday dinner (which was almost a month ago). I got this dress in a vintage store for a whapping $10. It was brand new. Oh how I love these fun cheap finds! The print reminded me of a cherry print form Dolce&Gabbana from a few seasons ago, but I also loved the style of the dress. It seems much shorter in these pictures then it actually is. For some reason my legs lo…

Over-sized Sleeves, Cozy Zara Sweater & Leather Outfit

Boots Aldo, skirt New Yorker, sweater Zara, bag Chanel, earrings vintage
Gotta love Zara! Gotta love this sweater! It was love at first sight (I know, I know I say that a lot). If you love it too, you should be able to still find it in the store. I love the oversized sleeves in particular. Anyone else crazy about this trend?  My brain is a little fried this week do I won't talk much. Too much to do, too little time before my trip to Boston this weekend. So I am leaving you with this quick post and hope you enjoy the pictures and the outfit.
