Fashion bloggers are considered (by many) to be a connection between the fashion runways and regular people. They are considered to translate current trends into a style that is more accessible and easier to understand to an everyday person. They may be an old news and source inspiration to many women and men out there, but there are also many people who are just getting around to following bloggers and using them as source of inspiration for what to wear. One comment that I often hear is that it’s hard to keep up with a blogger and buy everything they wear. Cost adds up very quickly. But one thing I love about my favorite fashion bloggers is the ability to re-mix their wardrobe time and time again, and not just show off new items. I personally get inspired by many things when it comes to putting together an outfit: from other bloggers, magazines, house and decorating magazines, or just some random pictures, things I see on the street, architecture or nature. Inspiration does not mean you copy an exact look. It is supposed to give you an idea about how to work with what you have in your closet and make a similar outfit. For me, sometimes, an outfit that I see on another blogger may inspire me for its exact items of clothing, but other times, it may be just the combination of colors in the outfit, mix of prints, idea of mixing specific pieces of clothing together, that maybe I had not thought about. Some of my favorite bloggers are very tall, and yet I am not. Some have a very different body shape than me so I cannot copy their outfit completely. I have to always keep in mind my body shape, skin colour, hair colour, life style, etc to ensure I am comfortable in what I am wearing. If it does not suit my body, I will not be able to carry it out. The outfit may be wearing me or I may look very uncomfortable in it.
So this week, I thought I would give you couple of examples of outfits that inspired me and how I translated them into my style and used existing pieces in my wardrobe to create them.
Today’s outfit inspiration is from a picture of a partial outfit I saw on Instagram from a very famous blogger Sincerely, Jules. What I loved about it is the idea embroidered clutch and white pheasant top.   I also loved the idea of that world traveler style mixed with my favorite summer item, cut-off denim shorts. I did not want to go searching for a similar shirt, when I already owned a dress that had the same feel to it. You may have already seen me wear it in this SashaDoll Fashion Closet post. So I just added a little boho style belt to cinch in the waist and shorten the length of the dress, and voila, a shirt. I also already own an embroidered bag, which I used before as a clutch as well. I just fold it in half and tuck the handles inside. And  , who doesn't own a pair of denim shorts, right?

So below is a picture of my inspiration and the outfit I created from it. Hopefully, for those of you who find it hard to translate outfits of your favorite bloggers into what fits you best, this little article will help. I will have one more post this week to show you a different way to interpreting an inspiration. Ciao!

The Very First Outfit Post

I took a few outfit pictures over the last few days, as I was running around my day and I wasn’t sure what would be the first one to post. I debated and as the days went by and weather changed (it seems every day it was a different season), I decided to go with the very first one I shot. This one I actually took last month at the High Park.   It was the last few days when you could see the cherry tree blossom so I did not want to miss out on it. I love spring only for this reason, trees and flowers blossoming. And the fact that it is a sign that the summer is just around the corner (I am still waiting for this corner though), but it is a sign.      A little nervous giggle              Sweater Costa Blanca, white tee H&M, rings, earrings, necklaces and leggings Forever 21, watch Michael Kors, bag Louis Vuitton, sneakers Urban Planet, sunglasses Ray Ban   This is a very casual outfit and very odd for me in the sense that

Have You Visited Positano & Amalfi Coast Yet?

Pants Zara, jacket Zara, sneakers Forever21, bag unknown (Winners), dress unknown ( similar ), ankle boots PrettyLittleThings There are still quite a few more outfits and cities I’ll be featuring on the blog from my last year’s trip to Italy, however today I’m sharing this post from the last location we visited: beautiful Positano. As we visited Italy in the fall, outfits left to share are more fall appropriate, so I will share them come September. I’ll be dealing with two little babies then so God knows how much time I will have to shoot new outfits. As I’m laying on my couch bored out of my mind counting down the days to my delivery next week (whooohoooo!!!) I’m experiencing such FOMO. Partially because I won’t be going on vacation this summer (though becoming a mom to two little girls is quite awesome!!) and partially because I’m reminiscing of my travels last year. Positano seems to still be one of the most photographed summer destinations so I’m sharing a few pictures f

Sightseeing Montreal In Hot Pink Sneakers & Ripped Jeans

Jeans & jacket Zara, sneakers Nike, shirt H&M, bag Steve Madden, sunglasses unknown, belt Danier (men's section), chain ring Forever 21, midi ring H&M, forefinger gold rings gifts    Day one in Montreal was the cocktail party and then walking the streets of old Montreal at night and testing out different patios and bars. Day two in Montreal, was again walking the beautiful streets of old Montreal and testing out patios, but now in daylight, hehehe. Oh and lets not forget, blog picture taking. I forget how beautiful this city is and am reminded every time I come back. Then, I wonder why I don't come back more often. It is gorgeous, vibrant and people are extremely warm. It has such a European flare, which I often miss, and this is a quick way for me to get that fix once in a while, without having to fly over an ocean. These pictures were snapped around St Denis street as well as around Catherdral Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal. I was comfortable in my new N

Black & White Striped Forever 21 Dress & Aldo Shoes

Shoes Aldo, bag Target, dress Forever 21, jacket Le Chateau, sunglasses ZeroUV, spike bracelets Aldo, silver bracelet Tiffany&Co, watch DKNY Hello lovelies. I hope everyone had a beautiful weekend. Hopefully, those of you who are moms got to be pampered and spoiled by your kids and partners. I hope you also showed your love to your moms and thanked them for everything they have done for you. We should be doing it every day, but it’s really nice to have a day dedicated to these amazing women. I know how much my mother means to me and she certainly deserves every day to be dedicated just to her. I’m sure all of you feel the same way about your mothers too. Even the sun came out to shine and make Mother’s day even more special. I made sure to go bare legged to welcome the warmth and the sun. Today’s outfit is a cute spring look, easy to pull off. Black and white stripes always make a statement and a little pop of colour just makes the outfit complete. I spent the day out mostly
