Mediterranean Blue

Skirt and blouse Zara, heels Heels.com, ring (street buy Madrid), bandeau Springfield, clutch (gift, old)

As my days fly by, I manage to squeeze in a little time for another new post. I am already in Malaga but the pictures in this post were taken on the rooftop of our hotel in Madrid and in the hotel lobby. This is an absolutely amazing hotel called Vincci Via 61, in the city centre. The staff is amazing and it is just beautifully decorated. I have an issue with public bathrooms and tubs,  but this hotel is so clean and just modern enough that you feel like you are in a spa. When we visited Madrid five years ago, we stayed in this same hotel.
Back to the oufit :).  This was an outfit I wore to a business diner couple of nights ago. A bright Mediterranean blue skirt from Zara.  When I bought it, it was an awkward length on me, neither mid/below knee nor a mini. I already have a blue pencil skirt so I chose to make it into a mini. I love the pleats on the hip area as it gives illusion of smaller waist and curvier hips. I kept it very minimal with Zara shirt you have seen me wear before (here), strappy sandals, minimal jewelry and minimal make up. Who wants to wear heavy makeup in the heat anyway. Sometimes simple can have a strong impact too. Agree? I welcome your comments, good and bad. I am off to explore the beautiful city of Malaga and all its charms. Que tengan un maravilloso weekend! Ciao!

Casual Maxi Outfit

Skirt Mendocino, top Stradivarius (old), belt Danier (men’s department), earrings Spring (old), bracelets (small boutique in Madrid), glasses Ray Ban, bag Winners, shoes Spring (really old but comfy).

As I mentioned before I don’t like to travel heavy so I have to pre plan to combine one same piece of clothing for dressy and casual occasions. This maxi skirt you have seen on me before (here) came in as a very versatile piece. I wore it here during the day in a more casual way but also at night to go out. I will post that outfit another day. It was very comfortable yet still very stylish for walking around town and taking in the sights. Did I mention there are way too many patios and squares here to enjoy them all on one visit? Well, we did our best to enjoy as many as we could, but I think we are losing that battle. But we keep on fighting J. What are your thoughts about this combination for the maxi skirt? Ciao!

So Much To Do, So Little Time

Overalls, shoes and top Stradivarius, clutch Spring (old), bracelets new (little boutique in Madrid), blue ring Ebay, bronze ring F21, earrings Spring (old)

Hello again from beautiful Madrid. I have been trying to maximize my time here, but it seems there is never enough time when you are enjoying yourself. There is so much to see and do, and just sooooo many squares and patios to sit on and relax and take in the beauty. I swear, no matter where I sat down, whether it was in the city centre or in hidden away little streets and squares, when you look around or up, the view is just beautiful. The architecture is amazing! I look at that and then look at our architecture today. What will we leave for our kids to remember us by? Glass or concrete buildings? I know, I know, there are different styles, but somehow I love anything else but modern. And I just love the relaxed attitude of the Spanish and Europeans in general. They never seem to be in a hurry. I guess it’s not that great for the economy but it certainly is for enjoyment of life and keeping your sanity J.

This outfit I am wearing…well it was none of the ones I planned and packed. I went shopping the other day and everything on me is new J. Told you I had an issue, didn’t I? These amazing sexy overalls (dungarees), the shoes and this cropped top I bought in Stradivarius. I love this store. Great prices for great and fun clothes. Their denim is just a perfect combination of cotton and elastin so as to give you a little support but does not flatten your bum. And the styles are very modern too. What are your thoughts on the comeback of overalls? Would you wear them? Hasta pronto!

A difficult task of figuring out what to eat :)

Hola Madrid!

Hello from beautiful and warm Madrid! My very first and very quick post. I have tried to enjoy last few days without thinking too much about the blog. Then today when I finally had some free time, I wanted to post one only to realize my battery has died and I did not have a converter. It took a while to find one. Then I also got really busy just shopping so I managed to get to my room not too long ago. I go so into the shopping mood that I completely forgot to eat. I only had a croissant all day. I'm starving now, needless to say :). I'm glad I left my luggage half empty, which leaves me with enough room for new things :). I only brought 5 pairs of shoes which is amazing for me. I normally never go without 10. The hardest thing for me to pack is always jewelry because I bring a lot of rings and necklaces, just in case. To prevent them from being lost or get tangled, I bought nice little mesh drawstring gift bags (here). You can also find them for cheaper in Dollar stores. They are a great way to keep the jewelry neat and avoid any scratches. You can then place all of it in one bigger gift bag or your makeup box, or anything else that works for you.

As for the outfit, I am leaving you for now with the outfit that was meant for this past Friday. Madrid outfits are soon to come as I finally got my battery charged. I just love mixing sporty with dressy. This is a dress/tunic from H&M which I also wear as a sweatshirt (here), but I love it as a dress. If you are not 5'3 like me and are blessed with more height and long limbs, do not attempt this at home. It will look as if you are really wearing a sweatshirt :). I wore it with one of my favourite and most comfortable pumps, hot pink clutch I wore couple of days ago and this neon necklace from Target. It goes really great with dark tights in the fall/winter as well. Hasta luego!

Purple Sheen

Skirt (similar) and ring Forever 21, shoes Steve Madden, shirt Aritzia, snake necklace and snake bracelet Ebay, clutch Aldo (similar), belt ASOS

Last few items to be packed and I am ready to go! I still managed to sneak in a little time to take a few pictures. All of the items in this outfit except for the skirt, you have already seen on me only combined differently. I love getting a lot of wear out of one piece of clothing and love to see it mixed with different styles. This time my chambray shirt is combined with a more sexy/cute and puffy (for a lack of a better expression this moment) skirt. I love these types of skirts because they give me an illusion of more curves and smaller waist. But I also got it because I absolutely love the colour. It just makes me really happy to wear it. Normally I am not a fan of satin because it reminds me way too much of dresses girls like to wear to weddings. Actually, I notice that is happening less and less, but at one point all I could see at most weddings was sheen from the satin. And the worst is when the cut of the dress is not right so it ends up looking cheep and unflattering. Soon, probably when I return from my trip, I will have a post talking about buying dresses for weddings. I have a lot to say on this topic J.

While I am away, I won’t have as much time to post 5-6 days per week, but I will sneak in some time here and there. You can also follow me on Instagram while I am away. I should have some time to update Facebook page as well. Now, don’t forget me in my absence! J Ciao!

PS. I know in the last picture you can’t see much of my outfit, but I just had to keep it. As we were taking pictures my dog decided to sneak into one of them. Not his best angle J but I love how happy it made me feel, so I could not delete it and not include it in the post. It was a real moment, too cute to exclude J.

A Mix Of Classic And Edgy

A quick post tonight. Sorry for the tired face. I have been running on 4-5 hour sleep last few days. And my camera guy could not do any wonders to help me either J. What can I do? Deep set eastern European eyes give away any trace of tiredness hehe.  Though, somehow I always feel that I don’t look as tired in person. You trust me on that right? JI should probably rethink getting a Photoshop J. Oh well, it is what it is. Just a part of life.
I was going out for a dinner with some friends and felt that I needed to dress little more classic, hence the white shirt. But that is about it for me. I could not go classic all the way, just not me (unless I am going for an interview).  So I mixed it up with a black suede classic pump and these completely destroyed jeans from Zara. I love mixing soft and edgy together. Add a side braid (or tail), hot pink clutch and I am a happy camper. I highly recommend this white shirt from Zara (about $60), amazing quality, soft fabric, falls softly away from the body, amazing cut, even if you are heavier on top. Oh and one more benefit…it hides a belly too if you need it J. Hope everyone has a great evening! Ciao!
